Tafsir Surah Yusuf
Described as the best of stories, Surah Yusuf is unique in its style, entirely devoted to relating the events in the life of Prophet Yusuf, peace be upon him. In a world where greed, envy, temptation and inustice were prevalent, his response was his noble character, an everlasting proof that imaan will always be in ascendancy. Its dramatic narrative gives us perspective on the inevitable twists and turns of our own lives, focusing on the core virtues we must personify to succeed in this life and the next.
Hajj: The Journey To Allah
The last of the five pillars of Islam, Hajj includes elements of all the preceding pillars before it, integrating the testimony and experience of faith with prayer, physical effort, sacrifice and spiritual purification. The Inner Dimensions of Fasting
With a unique reward incomparable to other acts of worship, fasting is an action that goes beyond controlling the physical appetites. The Cave Within: Exploring the Meanings of Surah Al Kahf
Thousands of years ago, several young men of faith fled persecution and took shelter in a cave. In its darkness, they found illumination, and Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, immortalized their faith for generations to come in the Qur'an with a Surah of such wisdom that the Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu alayhi wa alihi wa sallam, recommended it be read on at least a weekly basis.
Keys to the Garden: Lessons From Surah Yasin
Like the heart is to the human body, Surah Yasin carries the essential pulse of the Qur'an, affirming the central foundations of faith. It shakes the hearts with proofs of the Oneness of Allah, the Prophethood of Rasulallah (Peace Be Upon Him and His Family), and vivid reminders of the Hereafter.
A Call to the Believers
When we hear the verses calling the believers in the Qur'an, "O you who believe", does it truly penetrate our heart? Are we called to attention, and do we contemplate the meanings of these verses and their significance? In His Wisdom, Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala speaks directly to the community of the believers throughout the Qur'an with this call.
Stories from the Qur’an
Cain and Abel. The Queen of Sheba. Dhul Qarnain. Musa and Al-Khidr. These are just a few of the stories read to us during our childhood, stories which took us to distant lands we could only imagine, traveling back in time to see the crucial moments in the genesis and history of human civilization.
Trials of the Messengers
In times of hardship, we may lose perspective and forget the immense difficulties faced by the greatest of creations, the messengers of Allah. In this seminar, we reflect on the tests and challenges the Messengers of Allah faced in their mission. Our teachers remind us that we have been blessed with Islam because of their sacrifices. In this evening lecture, we find that reflecting on their lives not only increases our love for the Messengers, but also gives us sufficient inspiration and guidance in dealing with the trials we face in our own lives.
Join Shaykh Mokhtar Maghraoui and Ustadh Moutasem Atiya in "Trials of the Messengers".
